8/24/19 – St. Anthony’s Feast – Boston’s North End

After leaving the Museum of Science, we walked over to the North End to see their small fair for St. Anthony’s feast day. There were many food vendors, a statue of St. Anthony, and a lot of people. We took the opportunity to eat some wonderful street food and then headed over to the Rose Kennedy Greenway for a quieter change of pace. After grabbing some snacks at the farmer’s market we headed home.

8/24/19 Boston Museum of Science

We have been wanting to see the museum’s Bodyworlds exhibit for a while, and this weekend we took the time to head in and visit it. Of course we also visited the butterfly garden, always a favorite of mine. We both found Bodyworlds to be quite interesting. It is a very unique perspective on humanity.

7/21/19 Garden in the Woods

Once again, I am back at Garden in the Woods. This time I visited with a local friend that had not been before. We both took a number of photos, including a few of some very photogenic frogs.

6/16/19 Garden in the Woods

I had another free Sunday, so I decided to head over to Garden in the Woods once again. The weather this time was not as bright and sunny as usual, and there had been a bit of rain. Perfect for a quite afternoon observing the details.

6/8/19 Boston

My sister was in town this weekend on her way up to New Hampshire, so we decided to head into Boston to show her around town. We started in Chinatown and then walked up the Rose Kennedy Greenway to the North End. After getting some cannolis we rode the red line up to Harvard Square and walked around campus. Of course, I took pictures along the way.

6/8/19 Garden in the Woods

Another month, another trip to Garden in the Woods!

5/11/19 Garden in the Woods

This year I decided to get a membership to the Garden in the Woods in Framingham. We have visited this local establishment in the past and enjoyed the wide variety of plants and flowers. This time did not let me down. The small delicate spring flowers were in full bloom, and a number of other plants were chasing them out of the ground. To top it all off, the weather was wonderful.

4/28/19 Charles River Paddling

The spring this year brought some extremely high water to the Charles River, ideal for exploring it’s wetlands by boat. We paddled from the Rt 27 bridge upstream to Dover Rd. The wildlife was everywhere, cleverly dealing with the extremely high water.

After our paddle I also made a stop by the Medfield State Hospital to walk around and take some more photos. It was pretty interesting, and a little creepy too.

4/13/19 Vernal Pools Walk

While visiting my in-laws we went on a guided nature walk in their town that visited multiple vernal pools. A couple of representatives from the state department of conservation provided lots of information about the pools and what lives there. There were lots of kids that were very excited to see so much wildlife, and they were even allowed to touch it. Naturally I channeled my inner child and enjoyed it just as much.

3/30/19 Boston’s Museum Of Science

I took advantage of a beautiful weekend to take a trip into Boston to visit the Museum of Science. I was visiting alone this time, so the trip really was about taking photos. This was also the trip where I discovered the amazing butterfly garden exhibit. Though small, it is packed with amazing butterflies and flowers. I spent nearly an hour in one room just following these beautiful creatures around.

After spending time with the butterflies, I toured a number of other exhibit halls, watched the show at the Theater of Electricity, and attended an animal meet and greet. Once I finished up at the museum I rounded out the day with a visit to the Bunker Hill Monument and museum. As you can tell from the number of photos, I had a great time.
